- Amanda C. Sandos worked for eighteen years as a professional zookeeper and environmental educator at the Dallas Zoo and the North Carolina Zoological Park. A native of Virginia, she chose to return home to her family farm in Forest in order to complete her undergraduate degree. She recently graduated with a double major in creative writing and studio art from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. She now works as a freelance environmental writer, artist, and photographer, while running her own pet sitting business. Amanda is a believer in the concept of deep ecology, that all things, no matter how big or small, have equal importance to survival of the great entity we call Earth. She strives to show this in all the forms of her art. More of her writing can be read at http://zooleft.blogspot.com , and her artwork can be viewed at http://thearticulates.mosaicglobe.com .
