ACCOR Hotels Linked with Habitat Destruction in Borneo

A logging company in Malaysia, that has been accused of  unethical behavior towards indigenous communities in Sarawak, the Malaysian state on the island of Borneo, has been linked with an ACCOR hotels construction project. An NGO, the Bruno Manser Fonds (BMF), which has been carrying out a campaign against Interhill for the past 20 years has released satellite images of evidence of deforestation in the region and has called for the hotel group to withdraw from building the 388-room, 4.5 star hotel.
