Live Green Expo

Last month was the 3rd annual Live Green Expo in Plano, Texas. The event was very well attended by an estimated 15,000 people.

There were fun events all day, dozens of exhibits, and activities for the whole family. Some of the events included keynote speaker Ed Begley Jr., an eco fashion show, a food demonstration by Iron Chef Kent Rathbun, and much more.

Ed Begley Jr. drew a huge crowd. He gave a wonderful speech about the environment, focusing on the good points and what we can do to help. He even talked about his “friend” T. Boone Pickens which was met with wild applause.

The fashion show was also a big event. There was a student show with some amazing pieces made by very talented young designers. As well as a professional show featuring some local environmentally friendly designers.

Ed Begley Jr. also was one of the panelists for the Green Building Panel, which also included Chris Miles, Robert Smouse, and Paul Westbrook. They took questions about building green and talked about the green homes they live in and have helped build.

The Live Green Expo is an event that is very worth your time if you are in the area next year. You will learn a lot about living green and will meet some wonderful people. Mark it on your calendar for April 17th, 2010 for the 4th annual Live Green Expo.
