Greeting Card Recycling Program

Did you receive lots of Christmas or Hanukah cards and now you don’t know what to do with them?   Please consider sending them to St Jude’s Ranch for Children.   According to their website, “St. Jude’s Ranch for Children has a 40 year history of healing and caring for abused, abandoned and neglected children.” The ranch collects all occasion used cards.  The children and the volunteers then create “new’ cards by recycling the old ones.  The front cover is removed and a new back (made with recycled paper) is attached.   Then a new beautiful “green” card is created. The cards are then sold in packets of 10 for $8 with the proceeds benefiting the children.  “The benefits are two-fold: customers receive “green” holiday cards for use and the children receive payment for their work and learn the benefits and importance of “going green.” Check out their website for more information and for other ways you can help.

They are accepting used, all-occasion greeting cards from November 15, 2008 thru February 28, 2009. You can mail your donations to:
