November 13-14, 2009, the Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon, Tennessee will be host to the third annual Summit for a Sustainable Tennessee. On Friday the 13th, the summit will be offering a variety of seminars and workshops on environmental subjects primarily focused on how to best conserve our land, water, and money at the same time. November 14th, the goal will be working on the 2010 Sustainability Agenda.
The summit represents a collaborative effort by over 125 different conservation and environmental groups, local businesses, private citizens and city and state officials, to promote sustainability. Another goal is to try to make Tennessee a leader in environmental efforts, much as Nashville’s solar power initiative has made Tennessee a forerunner in the southeast for efforts toward cleaner energy.
A copy of the agenda draft is available to view and download at their website, under the “Details” link, as well as instructions for registration, directions to the event, and additional information on Sustainable Tennessee. Online discounted registration will be accepted only through Monday, November 9th.
