A Car Made From Salad

A sports car like no other. A one-seater sports car, built and designed by Ben King and Dr Kerry Kirwan, not only runs on fermented wheat and sugar beets but the materials to make the car look very much like a salad, being made from green items like rape seed oil, potatoes and cashew nut shells.

The car can reach up to an impressive 150 mph and can reach 0-62 mph in under 4 seconds. The car is 95 percent biodegradable and all of the plastic components used were made from plants. The chassis has to be made from steel for strength, which is a reusable metal.

The car will be on display in London between August 28-30 at the National Science Museum.
