The Lumeneo Smera combines a car and motorcycle by including the protection of an enclosed driver capsule with the small-footprint of a two-wheeled transport.
Shown at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, the fully-electric 4-wheeled concept can reach a top speed of 80 mph and achieve 0 to 60 mph in around 8 seconds while reaching 93 miles per charge . An on-board computer will auto-control the vehicle’s tilting to an angle of up to 25 degrees when it takes a turn, taking into account the angle, speed and even the road conditions.
The Smera measures under 8 feet long and 2.6 feet wide and is powered by two 20 hp electric motors with a belt that delivers power directly to the back wheels. The two seater uses a lithium ion battery back which recharges via a main outlet.
Lumeneo is expected to bring the Smera to the market in 2009 but there is no word on the price as of yet.
