Make Your Hybrid Into A Ultra-Hybrid

For current Hybrid owners looking for additional ways to become green, there is a special option that could add an additional 17% to 19% to their gas mileage.

A California company called Solar Electric Vehicles (SEV) installs solar panels onto the roof of hybrid cars, custom fitted to a variety of hybrids such as the Prius, Toyota Highlander, Ford Escape, Dodge Sprinter or Toyota Rav4.

The SEV system qualifies for Federal renewable energy tax credits of up to $2,000 or 30% if purchased with a residential solar electrical system lowering the net cost of the system. SEV estimates it will take only 2-3 years to break even on costs.
