The California-based Phoenix Motorcars will be releasing a sport utility truck late this year that is claimed to have zero emissions and is able to travel at freeway speeds. It utilizes a NanoSafe battery that is non-toxic, fast charging, has a long life and can operate within a wide temperature range. The vehicle has a minimum range of about 120 miles per charge and a max speed of 95 mph. Phoenix Motorcars will start at about $45,000 for the truck. Depending on the charge method, the car can recharge in 15 minutes using a special charger or in six to seven hours using a wall socket. They will have a small release of 500 this year and about 6,000 in 2008.
