OSP Robot Design to Clean Oil Spills

Oils spills have disastrous effects on the environment and the key to containing it, is by cleaning up the spill as quickly as possible. A designer, Ji-hoon Kim, claims that his OSP robot concept could actually contain an oil spill quickly by surround it with an inflatable barrier. The OSP unit would be rapidly transported to the accident site and be deployed from either a boat or helicopter. Once the spill is contained through multi-robot control algorithms, clean up crews can work on sucking all the crude oil out.
