Homemade Non-Toxic Play Dough

Making play dough can be a fun thing to do with your kids or if you’re bored and want to revisit your childhood.

You’ll need:

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 cups water with several drops of food coloring added. (You can substitute vegetables juices or mashed up vegetables, like beets, spinach or carrots instead of using food coloring)

Mix ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly till mixture thickens. Remove from heat and turn dough onto a cool surface or plate to cool down. You can store the dough in a covered container or plastic bag.

And…if you want to make you or your child’s creation to last, bake the finished creations in the oven till hardened. Then paint it!
