Heating Your Pool

Heating your pool can be costly if you are using other means besides solar for your pool. To heat a typically sized pool, it can cost between $100 to $200 per month. You can usually recoup the cost to install a solar heating system within 2-3 years and they’ll usually last for 20-25 years.

Solar collectors (used to absorb and store the heat) are positioned where the sun can hit it for the good portion of the day. Choose wisely when picking out a solar collector. You want to evaluate and compare their thermal performance (actual energy output). Also investigate the cost, warranty, service and quality of installation.
