Largest Solar Facility In Portland

To be built by Portland City Storage in Portland Oregon, this complex is to be the largest solar facility in the Northwest with over 175,000 square feet of integrated solar panels. Any excess power generated by the towers will be sold to Portland General Electric.

On the roof of the building, there are plans to collect and recycle rainwater.

The storage facility is to house boats and other recreational vehicles on the east bank of Willamette River.

  1. Its a pity the rest of USA don’t follow this example.
    unlike these
One of my favourite pastimes at lunchtime at work is browsing the various blog sites. I have found numerous well written articles of interest.
Today I was searching wordpress for ”environment” and came across this site

My first reaction was shock, disbelief and anger. How can so called religious people not care about the environment and then have the audacity to use God in their justification of their beliefs.

    These people need locking away.

  2. So is the entire building a giant solar cell? I’m guessing there are a bunch of little panels… On all sides?

  3. Chris - It’s a bunch of panels on all sides :)

  4. to date, solar panels which generate more than 100Watts are still expensive but hopefully they are getting cheaper each day ~

  5. i could only wish that solar panels cost only several hundred dollars, i would love to fill my roof with solar panels ‘:~

  6. ~;; I am very thankful to this topic because it really gives up to date information `,`
