Solar Farm In California

A San Francisco based developer had launched a project to build the world’s largest solar farm in California. By 2011, Cleantech America will have completed an 80-megawatt spread of solar panels to cover approximately 640 acres which is equal to 17 times the largest US solar farm in current existence.

The project is planning to generate enough power for 21,000 average homes and to be sold to Kings River Conservation District that currently provides energy for 12 cities and two counties in California’s Central Valley. The company is hoping that this move will create a domino effect and push more energy providers to adopt these changes and eventually lower the cost of solar energy.
