For the environmentally conscious gift-giver it can be hard to shop for special occasions. A is a unique and special gift for someone you love, and also gives you the satisfaction of knowing you are helping preserve America’s wild legacy long after the gift has been opened.
The Sierra Club just launched this new “green gift” program which is a fun and unique gift idea. People can sponsor a wild place - pick a national park that they want to support in honor of their mom (or a friend or family member). Once a place is chosen, they will be sent a certificate of protection and a cute stuffed animal that represents the national park that is being protected (i.e. an stuffed polar bear for protecting the Arctic, a stuffed alligator for protecting the Everglades, etc).
For Mother’s Day, they’re offering special packages where your mom gets sent two stuffed animals - a mom and baby…i.e., a polar bear and cub. It’s an easy way to help support the Sierra Club, make a donation and get mom a green gift at the same time.
The sponsorships are available for Giant Sequoia, the Grand Canyon, the Everglades, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Acadia National Park.
