Testing Starts For First Solar-Powered Mouse

Although not the biggest power hog, a team of Dutch researches are making sure that every little bit helps by creating a solar-powered mouse. Designed and going through testing at the Delft University of Technology, the “Sole Mio” will be the first mouse powered exclusively by light.

While the mouse is powered by light, it needs sunlight so it must be placed near a window when not in use. The trial will be testing charge duration, especially during busy daily activities.

Researchers find that under ideal conditions, several hundred million batteries could be saved annually and would yield higher environmental gain.
