The Japanese company, Toshiba, has introduced a prototype Portable Media Player (PMP) that integrates a fuel cell block and plans to run off nearly 100% methanol.
Users will be able to refill the high-end gadgetry on it’s side face. They estimate the player will last about 10 hours per full cell block, with the assumption of continuous 1 seg playback. The vapor byproduct produced from running the device will be evaporated naturally with the assistance of their filtration system.
Toshiba plans to launch the player in mid-to late 2008.
