Computers Need Naps Too

Taking a quick minute to change your energy setting on your computer could potentially help you use 80% less electricity and cut CO2 emssions by more than 1,000 pounds.

Most computers these days have the ability to put your computer on sleep mode when it hasn’t been in use for a pre-determined amount of inactivity. If you have a PC, go to your Control Panel and modify your Power Options.

Another option is that you could download a tool from SNAP.com that will set your computer on safe mode for you when it’s inactive AND track your carbon reduction efforts.

OR

You could just turn off your computer when you know it won’t be in use!
