Ad Media Goes Green

A New York company called Hanger Network, has produced environmentally friendly hangers which are made from 100% recycled paper that will bio-degrade. The company include ads on the hanger’s necks to allow free distribution.

Yes, it’s one more place for advertising to invade our homes, but you’ve got to hand it to Hanger Network for thinking of the idea which will not only benefit companies but also the earth. Using this method means possibly less junk direct mail, flyers or other forms of print-advertising that quite frequently end up in the trash.

Hanger Network has begun distributing to over 35,000 drycleaners in the US and is making good steps towards removing wire and plastic hangers from landfills. It is estimated that over 3.5 billion wire hangers end up in landfills (imagine how many of those come from the dry cleaners).
