Here are a few pointers on conservatively using materials around us.
When it rains, harness the raindrops by rerouting a few of your gutters to buckets. You can buy these materials from Home Depot.
Using plastic lumber (made from sawdust and recycled plastic) can be beneficial to your garden. It looks like wood but doesn’t crack or attract bugs. It can be used as decorative materials and will last a long time without you needing to replace it. Replacing it will cost additional fossil fuels to make NEW products…so this is a good step in the right direction.
Using a plastic bag below your top soil and garden will conserve water and will deter weeds from going up. They will eventually make it to the surface but it will take a long time for them to do so.
