This Saturday, October 8, 2011, Birmingham, AL area residents will have the opportunity to hear ideas and share a discussion with Colin Coyne, a leading expert in sustainability strategies. As one of several guest speakers taking part in the TEDx Birmingham event, Coyne is well recognized for his work in sustainability as it pertains to corporate strategic opportunities. Highlights of his presentations will include theories regarding the issue of climate change and how it is shaping global policy and trade, and how the battle over scarce resources is becoming one of corporate management’s greatest challenges.
Coyne, a faculty member at Auburn University’s Economic & Community Development Institute, also serves as an adjunct professor at Samford University where he teaches “The Economics of Sustainability” to masters and PhD students in the School of Biology and Environmental Sciences. He is the founder of Sustainable Birmingham, and is committed to service among several environmental focused committee groups including, Green Resource Council of Alabama Advisory Board, and the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership.
TEDx Birmingham is a program organized by a local chapter of TED, a non-profit organization that works to create community type platforms in which people can come together to share worthy ideas.
