Solar radio that porvides 27 hours of play

Roberts has announced their new “solarDAB” portable radio. According to Roberts, it is the first Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) radio that can be powered by the sun but it doesn’t have to be in the sun to work. The solar panels atop the body of the radio collect power from the sun and charge the radio’s internal rechargeable batteries for 27 hours of listening regardless of the weather. The radio is eco-friendly because is uses solar power but in addition, the rechargeable batteries mean no disposable batteries are needed. The radio has 10 preset stations, a backlit LCD display, headphone socket and line in for other audio sources such as iPod/MP3 players. It is currently being sold for $158.
