Ocean Green produces surfboards made entirely of natural raw materials. Standard boards use non-biodegradable fibreglass materials which Ocean Green replaces with 100% biodegradable Organic Hemp or Cotton. Fibreglass production requires a large amount of energy, in which the production of Hemp cloth is only 10% of that for Fibreglass.
The new and innovative EcoFoil surfboards are lightweight and produced from a lightweight hollow balsa core made from sustainable managed forests. The Ocean Green has planted over 5,000 trees and plan to increase this number each year to aid in the reduction in CO2.
The company’s new surfboard creations have won it’s first-ever Green Wave Award in The Surfer’s Path magazine for surfboard manufacturing because of their actions in promoting environmental consciousness in the surfing world.
