Energy Facts

I came across a few of these facts and found them mighty interesting and powerful:

Recycling aluminum saves 95% energy vs. virgin aluminum. By just recycling one can of aluminum, you can save enough energy to run a TV for 3 hours (Reynolds Metal Co.).

Recycling glass saves 50% energy vs. virgin class. By just recycling one glass container, you can save enough energy to light a 100-watt bulb for 4 hours (Center for Ecological Technology).

Recycling paper saves 60% energy vs. virgin paper and generates 95% less air pollution. Every year enough paper is thrown away to make a 12′ wall from New York to California (Center for Ecological Technology)

Recycling plastic can keep 2 billion tons of plastic out of landfills (Penn State). We use enough plastic wrap to wrap all of Texas every year (EPA).
